Volunteer Safety & Compliance

All workers engaged for the Puffing Billy Running Festival must be aged 18 years and over.

As part of their procedure for working on-site, the following safety and compliance requirements must be completed:

1. WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

Proof of a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) must be provided. If you do not hold a valid WWCC, please visit the following website to apply https://service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children

Please note that PBR and SingleTrack are not responsible for the cost of the WWCC.

2. CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING

PBR is proudly a Child Safe organisation and is committed to providing positive experiences for children in an environment that’s caring, nurturing and safe, to ensure they are free from the risk of harm and/or actual harm.

Adhere to their Child Safety and Wellbeing framework, which includes reading the following documents:

• Child Safety and Wellbeing Code of Conduct
• Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
• Child Safety and Wellbeing Reporting and Response Procedure

Step 2

Sign and submit the Child Safe Commitment Declaration form.

 

PART 3. RAIL SAFETY BRIEFING AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

As a Rail operator, railway safety is a top priority. PBR must ensure that every passenger, community member, PBR worker, and contractor is safe on the railway. They take this responsibility seriously, and to uphold these standards, SingleTrack Contractors and SingleTrack Event Volunteers are required to follow their policy and procedures.

PBR’s Rail Safety Training video is designed to provide you with crucial knowledge about the potential hazards and safety protocols within their railway environment. This includes detailed instructions on how to safely access the rail corridor. Adhering to these safety measures is essential for protecting not only your own life but also the lives of others around you.
